Be aware that when my mask wears a mask
Guarding the burial chamber is my task.
If one has no regard for the funerary sphinx
For sure on him I will place an eternal jinx.
Never forget that Death comes to those
who disturb the sleep of the pharaohs.
This picture has been inspired by the curse of the mummy, which began when many terrible events occurred after the discovery of King Tut's tomb. Legend has it that anyone who dared to open the tomb would suffer the wrath of Tutankhamun.
A Sphinx has a human head and an animal body (lion). However, the God of Death, Anubis, has an animal head (jackal) and a human body.
Since Anubis is also well-known as having an animal body as well and posed like a sphinx, it gave me the idea of merging the death mask of Tutankhamun, a lion body, and a human skull as a mask.
